Let’s be honest. The Masters is one of the most hallowed and well-known sporting events on the planet. Well, at least for a bunch of old white dudes that care more about their tournament than they do the growth of the sport being played on their precious course at Augusta.

But while everyone KNOWS The Masters, not everyone cares. Johnson’s injury, and the subsequent fallout is good for the game, in that it brings the sport to the frontline of the media cycle even if for the wrong reasons.

Also, in case you missed it, Snoop Dogg out there representing for the culture.

We are all sad for Dustin Johnson and his injury (not sad for him in life, as you can see by the reactions to the news, he’ll be just fine.)

And while Tiger Woods still receives bets to win the Masters every year, the hope has risen for Rory McIlroy or Jordan Spieth (whoops) to make a run.

So much for Spieth. Well, two down, 3 more rounds to go. At least people are talking about who will win the tournament and paying attention to golf in some form. That’s a win for the tournament and the sport.
