On January 25, the Colorado Rockies signed reliever Greg Holland to a one-year deal worth around $7 million, and a vesting option for a second year, first reported by Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports.

Holland, 31, missed last season due to Tommy John Surgery. When April comes around, it will have been 18 months since his last competitive pitch. Holland was an All-Star in 2013 and ’14. In that two-year stretch Holland posted a 3-4 record with a 1.32 ERA and 93 saves.

With the addition of Holland, the Rockies now have four guys with experience in the closer role: Adam Ottavino, Jake McGee, and Carlos Estevez.
