The Los Angeles Dodgers have traded for Tampa Bay Rays second baseman Logan Forsythe in exchange for starting pitcher, Jose De Leon.
The Dodgers have been actively looking for a second baseman for weeks. They initially were interested in Minnesota Twins second baseman Brian Dozier, but the Rays wanted less in return.
Jose De Leon made his major league debut last season on September 4. He started four games and posted a 2-0 record with a 6.35 ERA.
De Leon spent the bulk of last season with the Oklahoma City Dodgers, the L.A. Dodgers AAA affiliate. He started 16 games and had a 7-1 record with a 2.61 ERA and 111 strikeouts through 86.1 IP.
Last season with the Rays, Forsythe posted a slash line of .264/.333/.444 while also drilling 20 home runs, and driving in 52 runs.
