The New York Mets swept the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS to advance to their first World Series since 2000. Mets rookie Steven Matz went only 4 2/3 innings in game four. Matz gave up one run on four hits striking out four in the process.

The Cubs Jason Hammel went only 1 1/3 innings pitched giving up five runs on four hits. The Mets got things going when Lucas Duda hit a three run bomb giving the Mets the early advantage.

Travis d’Arnaud followed Duda with a solo shot making it 4-0 after one.
The Mets kept things rolling in the 2nd when Lucas Duda hit a double scoring Murphy and Wright making it 6-0.  In the 8th Daniel Murphy hit a two run home run, his sixth in a row gave the Mets the 8-0 lead.

The Cubs scored in the 4th when Kyle Schwarber hit a ground ball to first scoring Anthony Rizzo. The Cubs only managed to get one run with the bases loaded with no one out. Cubs rookie Kris Bryant hit a two run home run in the 8th to make it 8-3.

Famillia came on in the 9th and recorded the final three outs of the game and the rest was history.
