Jon Heyman reported early Thursday evening that the Baltimore Orioles and Mark Trumbo have reached an agreement on a three-year contract for $37.5 million, pending a physical.

Trumbo reportedly wanted around 5 years and $75 million earlier this offseason after he turned down a 4-year offer worth $40 million.

Last season Trumbo set single-season career highs in hits (157), home runs (47), RBI’s (108), and OPS (.850). He also posted a slash line of .256/.316/.533

Trumbo isn’t the greatest fielder to ever grace the field, so it is likely he will DH most of the time.

However, this a good move for Baltimore, as this is one of the weakest free agent markets that the sport has seen in recent years.
