The first half of the game was quite interesting. Chris Paul led all scorers with his 17 points and 8 for 11 field goal percentage. Kobe Bryant, who is remembered for his 81 points in a Christmas game, scored 9 points at the half that included back-to-back threes. However, the funniest part of the first half is when Lakers’s forward Larry Nance Jr. scored a point for the Clippers (ouch). D’Angelo Russell showcased his impressive ball handling as he led his team in scoring with 12 points in the first half.
During the second half, the Clippers were leading by 20 points until they slowed down their defense, allowing the Lakers to gain some easy points. It was not until the fourth quarter when the Lakers started to heat up. Brandon Bass had a some open looks, ending with seven points while D’Angelo Russell ended the game with 16 points. But, this was not enough to counter Chris Paul’s 23 points and Blake Griffin’s 13 points. The Clippers beat the Lakers 94-84. Nevertheless, Kobe Bryant has seemed to have a great Christmas as he received more votes than LeBron James and Kevin Durant combined to play in the All-Star game. Kobe ended his last Christmas game with 12 points.
