How about these Gamecocks? Wow. It’s incredible to think that this team lost to Ole Miss and Alabama right before the NCAA Tournament started, and now they’re one game away from the Final Four.
(7) South Carolina has been on quite a run, mainly because of superstar forward Sindarius Thornwell. He dropped 24 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out 2 assists. However, the dangerous thing about this team is that everyone is starting to play like Thornwell, as shown in the video below.

For much of the season it was a one man wrecking crew, but now P.J. Dozier, Duane Notice, and Chris Silva are playing up to their full potential. South Carolina stifled the (3) Baylor offense, forcing 16 turnovers and just 30.9 percent shooting. Johnathan Motley struggled in what might be his final game as a Bear, scoring 18 points on 17 shots.
The Frank Martin-led Gamecocks are headed to their first ever Elite Eight, after not even reaching the Big Dance since 1973. They will take on the winner of (4) Florida and (8) Wisconsin on Sunday in New York City at Madison Square Garden.
