A blocked punt by Baltimore changed the game late, but Arizona held on to beat the Ravens, 26-18 on Monday Night Football.

Joe Flacco and his offense scored a touchdown after that blocked punt and added a 2 point conversion to put the difference at 8 points.

Baltimore forced a punt, and had the ball at their own 24 with 1:53 left in the game.  After driving 67 yards in 9 plays, Flacco was intercepted by Tony Jefferson on a 2nd and goal throw from the 9 with 13 seconds remaining and Arizona finally finished the Ravens.

There were 2 big moments in this game that kept momentum on Arizona’s side.

Baltimore was up 10-7 and forced a punt, but Jeremy Ross appeared to fumble and Arizona recovered.  The replay showed Ross’s knee down as the ball came out, but there was not enough evidence for an overturn.

Later in the game, Chris Johnson looked to have been stopped on a short gain, only to keep his feet and run for 62 yards to set up an Arizona field goal.  Johnson’s forward progress seemed stifled, but there was no whistle and no replay.

Arizona finds a way and hangs on.  Carson Palmer had a nice game completing 20 of 29 passes for 275 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Tyrann Mathieu was awarded the ‘Gruden Grinder’ award to complement his 7 solo tackles and 1 QB sack.  The Cardinals are 5-2 now, and travel to Cleveland to face the Browns this Sunday.

Baltimore is having a difficult year, and at times it truly looks like they are one Terrell Suggs away from being a contender.  Their defensive stalwart is out for the season though, and times are tough.  At 1-6, this team is playing for pride now.  Baltimore plays the Chargers at home on a short week.
