At 12:24 AM Eastern, Pat McAfee personally announced that he has decided to retire from the NFL. He played eight seasons in the league for the Indianapolis Colts and is now retiring at just 29 years old. He has had various knee injuries as well, which is a big reason why he is retiring from the league. He has many other reasons in his statement though as well.
The two-time Pro Bowl punter met with team owner Jim Irsay for more than an hour on Monday to inform him of the decision.

He is leaving the league to join Barstool Sports, as he held a brief press conference on The Barstool Rundown on Comedy Central to announce his retirement. He is a comedian too and has his own show, as well as frequently appearing on the Dan Patrick Show. He says he wants to make the world a better place and do other things and thought it was time to walk away.
Easily considered one of the best punters in the league of 2016, so it is sad to see him walk away. When he played, he was very entertaining as well, just like Marquette King. We will miss seeing Pat McAfee play.
