1st Down: The Game Of The Week

New York Jets (4-1) @ New England Patriots (5-0)

With teams like the Packers, Bengals, and Broncos on bye and a lot of bad matchups this week, picking a game of the week was pretty challenging. But, with all that said this week’s best matchup is the divisional game between the Jets and the Patriots.

The winner of this game will have sole possession of first place in the AFC East, now that sounds like a very attractive game, but in my opinion the Jets have no business being mentioned in the same class as the Patriots. Yes, the Jets are a good team; yes this might be a one-possession game, but the Patriots are just an overall better team than the Jets. The Jets are 4-1, but I just cannot take an NFL team seriously with Ryan Fitzpatrick as their quarterback. In addition to that, in a recent ESPN article, the Jets were ranked among the top five healthiest teams in the league.

Prediction: Patriots 31

Jets 24

2nd Down: The Player Matchup Of The Week

Cleveland Browns (2-4) @ St. Louis Rams (3-3)

Yes, you read that correctly, a game involving the Browns and Rams is one of my most anticipated games of the weekend. Why you may ask? Easy, the Browns are currently ranked 32nd against the run, giving up a whopping 149.8 yards per game. On the other side of the field, we have the Rams, who have one of the best young running backs in the NFL in Todd Gurley. In his three games he has played, Gurley has looked tremendous. I would not be surprised if Gurley ran for 200 plus yards in this game. In addition that, the Rams’ defense is one of most entertaining defenses to watch, going up against a struggling offensive line, the Rams’ defense could be in for a historic day.

Prediction: Rams 23

Browns 10

3RD Down: Blow Out Of The Week

Baltimore Ravens (1-5) @ Arizona Cardinals (4-2)

This game has blow out written all over it: A prime time games, the Cardinals are coming off of an embarrassing loss to a third string QB, and they are at home. All of these things mean one thing for the Ravens: A BAD LOSS.

The Ravens are one of the worst teams in the NFL in giving up throws or 20 or more yards down the field. Well, this week they are going up against the Cardinals, a team who has completed the most passes of 20 or more yards down the field. They have scored the most points of any NFL team thus far, and I expect their scoring parade to continue on Monday.

Prediction: Cardinals 45

Ravens 10
