Ever since the Rams made the move from St. Louis to Los Angeles, they have been on the upswing. Making stellar acquisitions in the draft with young talents such as Jared Goff and Todd Gurley, the Rams found gems to say the least. The two has blossomed into arguably one of the most dynamic duo’s in the backfield in the NFL.
However, the Rams fell short of the ultimate goal last season, losing to the Falcons in the first round of the playoffs. It was a disappointment to say the least.
This offseason though, power moves have been made. Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters and Sam Shields have been added to the defensive secondary. A defensive line that already has Aaron Donald now has Ndamukhong Suh alongside with him. I guarantee you nobody, and I mean nobody is going to want to face this defense once, let alone twice. Sam Bradford… buddy, you picked the wrong division to be in pal.
But it doesn’t stop there, the Rams aren’t done making power moves. Just recently, OBJ trade rumors have surfaced, with the Rams and Browns being front runners for him. Take a moment, soak this in. Jared Goff, Todd Gurley, OBJ…
Wow. The only other trio I can think that could come close to that is Big Ben, Le’veon and Antonio Brown out in Pittsburgh. Potential meet up in the Super Bowl? I could see it.
Now if this were to happen, and the Rams get OBJ, it would be Super Bowl or bust. There’s no way they can re-sign Gurley, Talib, Suh and give an extension to Goff. The cap just isn’t there. Now don’t get me wrong, the Rams are going to be a force to be reckoned with for a long time in the NFC (that’s weird to say) but throwing around money could bite them if they don’t bring the Lombardi trophy back to LA.
