The San Francisco 49ers have been busy this offseason, trying to fill the spots of general manager and head coach. They fired Chip Kelly and Trent Baalke in Week 16 before the off-season even began. Their plan was to hire a new GM and let the new GM hire a new head coach.

They hired former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Pro-Bowl safety John Lynch as their new general manager. Lynch previously worked at FOX Sports as a color commentator for the last 4 years, often analyzing games with broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt. Lynch has a great football mind, as many of his former teammates/colleagues have said after the announcement of the hiring

The first official hire with Lynch as new GM, was the hiring of Adam Peters, as VP of Player Personnel. Here is a quote from 49ers GM John Lynch, showing just how excited John Lynch is to have Peters in the 49ers front office (via SB Nation):

“When it comes to stars in this industry, Adam Peters is certainly one of them,” said 49ers General Manager John Lynch. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from two incredibly successful organizations and is one of the most respected talent evaluators in the National Football League. I have known Adam for several years and have great confidence that his drive, work ethic, and skill set will be instrumental to the 49ers organization. I know how much John Elway and the Broncos organization value and respect Adam, and I am very grateful that they have allowed him to pursue such a tremendous opportunity. We are thrilled to have Adam join the team and look forward to creating something special together.”

Kyle Shanahan will most likely officially be hired as head coach after Super Bowl 51, as Shanahan is currently the offensive coordinator for the best offense in football, the Atlanta Falcons. Assuming that the cards fall correctly, Kyle Shanahan looks to be a great hire for the 49ers.

John Lynch has said all of the right things so far as GM of the 49ers os far. He is a smart guy and has a chance to be a great general manager in the NFL. With moves like the Peters hire and an impending hire of Kyle Shanahan at head coach, the 49ers could be on the rise within the next few seasons.
