ST.LOUIS — News reports have confirmed that the St. Louis Blues have moved Kevin Shattenkirk to the Washington Capitals. Another report has confirmed that he will most likely be in the lineup for the Capitals tomorrow night against the New York Rangers. The Rangers were another team that was rumored to inquire about Shattenkirk, but he is in fact heading to DC.

The GM of the Washington Capitals, Brian MacLellan, has stated that the team has a “two-year window” on their chances of winning a Stanley Cup. This trade could really push towards shutting that window down and winning one this year.

The details of the deal are reportedly a 2017 1st rounder, a 2018 2nd rounder, and Zach Sanford to the Blues. Those are said to be the main parts, they likely have more details to come.

The price of this deal is said to be a rental price, because Shattenkirk will be a Free Agent this offseason and is making $4,250,000 this year. Some Blues fans’ reactions appear to show they are fine with the deal, especially since he is a UFA this year.

Others, not so much……
