With word coming Tuesday morning about a potential move to French club Paris Saint-Germain, is it a perfect time for Neymar to leave Barcelona? PSG is ready to trigger the £222 million release clause in Neymar’s contract with the Spanish club.

This deal would come close to £257 million, which would be a world record transfer fee. Neymar, at just 25 years of age, would be the face of PSG, and rightly so.
Neymar got his professional career started in the Brazilian Serie A, with Santos FC. He made his debut at the age of 17, and has not looked back ever since.
Soccer was in his blood. Neymar’s father was also a professional footballer. Scoring 14 goals in 48 games in his first season, scouts knew he was going to be something special.
Santos would begin receiving calls from Premier League teams, West Ham United and Chelsea, with the highest bid reaching £20 million.
In his second season with the club, Neymar went on to score a total of 42 goals in 60 games. But, not everything was as glamorous as it seemed. Neymar had a sense for diving, trying to draw fouls whenever he could.
After being fouled for a penalty shot, Neymar was not given the chance, causing him to turn his back on his manager and argue with team captain, Edu Dracena. The board took the side of Neymar, and sacked the Manager. Neymar would finish 3rd in voting for South American Footballer of the Year at just 18 years old.
He won that award the next two seasons, proving he was ready.
In May of 2013, Santos reported that they had received two offers for the Brazilian wonderkid, but everyone knew he wanted to play for Barcelona. The day after the report was released, Neymar signed a 5 year deal with Spanish powerhouse, Barcelona.
During his time at Barcelona, Neymar has blossomed in to one of the top five players in the world. He has gotten the chance to play with other superstars, such as Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. These three have been one of the most deadly offensive units the past two seasons. They have combined to score 242 goals in that span, with rival Real Madrid’s three-headed monster scoring only 168 goals in that same span.
In his career, Neymar has scored a total of 241 goals in just 226 games.
Neymar has been playing in the shadows of these veteran players at Barca. At 25, and in the beginning of his prime, now is the perfect time for Neymar to make a change. Neymar is ready to become his own superstar.
Even though he is happy at Barcelona, Neymar would continue to blossom. PSG is no joke either, being a perennial contender in the Champions League. He would be surrounded by a quality team including Edison Cavani, Marco Verratti, Thiago Silva, and Angel Di Maria.
Neymar would make any team that much better than the game before. A change of scenery is also good. With a move to France, it allows him to explore other competition.
This would be the biggest move, marketing wise, since Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Everybody know sports is business. Neymar is a young, blooming superstar that will sell tickets and merchandise. Neymar could continue to grow his own brand, as so many athletes are doing in today’s sports realm.
Every year, Neymar organizes a charity football match in his hometown of Jundiai, to help raise food for families in need. Just continues to show the gratitude that overwhelms him.
If this move were to happen, PSG would be getting a superstar that is in his prime, while Barcelona loses a key part of their gameplan. Look for them to replace him with someone from their historic youth academy.
