Liverpool faced Bournemouth this morning and came out of the game with a controversial 1-0 win at home. People argue that it should have been an offsides call, but referees are not perfect and taking advantage of the situation is what the sport is about. Truthfully if the ref’s don’t see it than there is nothing they can do.

Christian Benteke scored the controversial goal of the day, but it was also his first goal for the club. A moment to be celebrated for the Belgian international, however was it well deserved? Some fans think that their prayers have been answered when the club bought Benteke.

He was injured right before the World Cup, but during that BPL season he gave the performance of his life, being one of the best strikers in the league. We’ll see whether he performs on the same caliber this season, but as of now people have high hopes for him since he scored the one and only goal that won Liverpool the game.

It has been a rough patch for Liverpool ever since the heart and soul of their team left, Steven Gerrard, and their superstar Luis Suarez, who left for Barcelona. To make the damage even worse Raheem Sterling who was a great young prospect for the team also left for Manchester City. It is as if they are starting all over, trying to re-build the name and dignity of the team.

Screen Shot 2015-08-17 at 4.15.56 PMDuring the 2013-14 season they had all their players in top form and came out in second place only a goal away from being first. The team was complete with Suarez, Gerrard, Sturidge, and Sterling who were all the stars of the team. Now that Benteke is on the team Liverpool fans are hoping that he can help them regain there form and come out ontop again.

Sometimes it really only takes one player to make a difference. There have been many players in the history of soccer who were nothing when they came to the team and came out as legends. Just like Thierry Henry in the beginning of his Arsenal days who was played as a winger, but eventually was put into the right position and became one of the greatest players who lived.

No one can tell what is going to happen until the season is in full gear. Thank you for taking the time to read this article, please feel free to leave a comment and if you enjoyed the article leave and like and share the page. Thank you and have a good day.
