Derek Carr and the Raiders have agreed to a 5 Year $125 Million Extension as first reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. (Later confirmed by Carr himself via his twitter)

The extension makes Carr the highest paid player in NFL history at $25 million per year.

Carr is coming off of a career year, one in which he finished with a career high in passing yards, touchdowns, completion percentage, and touchdowns. He also led them to their first playoff appearance since the 2002-2003 NFL season.

Although he finished last season on injured reserve with a broken fibula, Carr is as healthy as ever. The 25 year old is ready to build upon last year. With the addition of Marshawn Lynch and an upgraded offensive line, the Raiders look like one of the best AFC teams.

With Carr locked up for the next five seasons, the Raiders seemingly have a franchise quarterback locked up beyond their rookie contract for the first time in about 15 years.
