Thursday April 6th, Kevin Gastelum (14-2-0) was flagged by the USADA after they found “Carboxy-THC”, a metabolite found in marijuana, above the decision level of 180 nano-grams per milliliter (ng/mL) from an in fight sample collected from his last bout March, 11, a win against Vitor Belfort.
Gastelum was scheduled to fight Anderson “The Spider” Silva (34-8-0, 1 NC) as the co-main event for UFC 212 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Satuday June 3. Silva last fought at 208 where he defeated Derek Brunson (16-5-0) by way of a controversial decision.
Per his team, @YoelRomeroMMA is willing to to fight Anderson Silva on 6/3 … if it's for an interim belt. No belt, no interest.
